Did you ever get the other one done? and i seen your japan jdf plane i love that build it look like you flew it i was looking all over for a video, did you make one, man if you did i need to see it,just so cool!!

PS if i ever come across some money some day, and that i know will come to pass i would love to have you guys on my team as builders, some day so you must keep in tuch on rcgroups!

Hobby Lobby or Hobbytown USA usually carries it but both are very expensive. I order in bulk from RCfoam.com. Shipping is expensive but its because of the giant flat box.

Yup rcfoam.com is where I order the depron from.
Blue foam that I am using ( DOW FFF )is from lowes. I think its green now though. Huge bundle.
Home depot has the pink FFF bundle. (Owens corner ??)

Is this going to be more or less a slow-flyer with light wing loading, or do you expect that it will fly pretty quick? I'm wondering if such a model would fly more scale with an undercambered wing.

You want scale speed?

for these planes, an RC glider airfoil makes the most sense. some of them are undercambered. undercambered is actually a good thing and works extrememly well on airplanes such as the A-10. ever see a bad flying A-10 at model scale?......................me neither. LOL.

So far the whole plane weighs 582 G.
Whats left to do are
- support the engine pylons with 6mm depron, 3mm at the moment
-all the electronics
-control surfaces for the wing and rudder (elevators are hinged)
-glue the fwd and aft sections.
-right wing needs the internal aluminium tube that why its a bit sluggish.

With its weight of 582 grams I think i could be in range close of my target weight. Also I think I can stick to my plan of using 64mm edf's.
Did you see the canons on the nbr 2 engine lol

Cool. Now we're getting somewhere.
I like the way you sanded those edges of the fuselage cones, looks very smooth and curved.
I tried instead to massage a cone into a curved shape, it ballooned a bit into a barrel like shape, will probably have to sand anyway. So, your method might be better.
I also was a little too enthusiastic in bending the foam and caused a lot of creasing.

Might want to try Beacon Foam Tac and see whether you like it more. CA is good when you can wick it into already positioned parts. Foam Tac is good at gluing foam parts together. My friends swear by it.
