Well I'm slightly sunburnt, dehydrated and so satisfied by an awesome day jam packed with 3D badass-ness. Thanks to everyone who came out and piggy backed on the nwef event to get in some quality hucking!

It was a good time today.

Thanks to everyone at NWEF.org for a great event, and sorry for sneaking out with the watermelon. The attendance was super -- I think there were 10 planes up in the air at times.

Nice meeting you all - awesome stuff. Didn't get much sleep at all, considering I work graveyard, but damn it was without a doubt worth it.

I know I probably asked most of you today, but what are your thoughts on a second plane, considering I'm interested in getting into 3D down the road (not too interested in warbirds, EDF jets, or wings - that screaming glider was sexy though). Don't want to get in over my head though.

Let me know when the next get together is, if ya don't mind a wannabe 3D'r tag along.

Trying to put something together for around $150-$180. I like the sounds of EPP considering it seems rather easy to repair.

I too had a great time yesterday... y'all are a great bunch of guys to fly with and what an outstanding day we had. I'm really hoping this event gets bigger and bigger each year. Nice job NWEF!!

You wont find a cheaper, more fun and better 3D trainer that this one. And you can fly it in your front (or back) yard.

So you'd recommend going with the 32" version and not the 42"? I was guessing the 42" would have better flight characteristics compared to the smaller 32", especially when flying outdoors.

No doubt bigger does fly better, but don't discount the 32" just for size. It really is a great flyer and like I said from my experiance an outstanding 3D trainer. Trick for outdoor flying is a 1700 kv motor ($10.00) and 800 mha 3S battery ($6.99) turning a 8X4 GWS HD prop.

But the truth is I'm sure the 42" Edge and Yak 55 will also be great 3D trainers. But if you do go 42" ya gotta let me have a pull on it next time we get together!

Sbach-less snappy in pitch than the Edge but very manuverable. Fast. I cannot wait to get it in the hands of a good pilot and let them wring it out. It does not seem to be unstable as the strait lines are good. It is just taking some getting used to how much authority the tail has. It is easy to over control. I feel it is better in knife edge than the Yak but not as good as the edge. It is good in hover if you do not over control it.

If your thinking of a 32" EPP Yak, Greg at West Michigan Parkflyers does a great job with his kits also. Plus he has a sweet new paint scheme he's producing now.
