Question
Instruction's from a magazine.

Someone from Britain has asked if I would post instruction's for a free plan feature from an issue of R/C Model World, a Traplet publication. First of all shouldn't this person thought about buying the back issue? And of course secondly could I get in legal trouble by posting the instruction's here on this forum?

Hmm 5.99 is good value for mag if plan is intact, as the plan alone from Traplet is 9.89

I emailed and called Trapplet about posting a article from 1999 out of Quite Flight. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and because the article was out of date far enough that the magazine was not available I was given permision with a email to verify...The only request was to mention traplet in the post. First off let me clarify a few things. I contacted and spoke with the american distributor. If they say no then scan and simply send him a copy. The whole issue is making it a public post with something they still stock and sell. If they sell the plans then it sprobably going to be no.
Good luck with your endeavor. I wish more publishers who hold copyrights would let people post info from thier magazines that are way out of date!Often times those articles have info that is only in them. Sorry if I am stating the obvious.
I have to admit when she was happy about granting my request I was stunned.. I emailed her back with a thanks and a link to the post I made to verify I complied with her wishes
Hope this helps
Gordon

That particular issue had the 1/5th scale plan of the Polish Bat the plan I'm talking about has a 68" span and is from the Dec. 07' issue of RCMW that's fairly recent I would think a back issue may be available.

Are you sure that 5.99 is good value for a second hand mag ? of which a good 50% is old adverts

Bit of the old "Send three and fourpence" The magazine issue quoted by Stupot46 has only the build article and features the plan, NOT full size.

If you approach the magazine publishers you'll get a definite no. British publishers tend to refuse individuals trying to help each other but tend to ignore those on the universal auction site making a business out of selling copies at extortionate prices.

If you want to help him Prodjx, re read post #3

Regards Ian.

The end result of all the cheapskating will be to kill off the designers and kit-makers altogether.

Something tells me he doesn't care about old averts, or anything else in the magazine except for a couple of pages that have the instructions that he wants.

... So what else can you come up with to try to discourage him?
