Graham may correct me, but the last I was told was

Full carbon, XPS wing : $500 plus shipping (about US$45-$50 IIRC).

The wing jig is ~$20, if you want a AH curved offset peg I think they are $15.

My rohacell is only scheduled to arrive in the country mid Oct, then there will be some testing needed to nail down the process. So the only version available now is the XPS cored flying surfaces. That is a full carbon wing with glass tails standard. The glass tails are lighter so are preferred. This version is $500.

Options are
wing joining jig $20
AH curved offset blade $15
Carbon tails $20
Shipping to USA is $45 ( add $5 if the wing jig is requested )

BTW the glass slip-nose with the patterned fabric is standard ( Kevlar slip-nose on request )

Added the Gators name to the list....... now I wait. Looking forward to a squeaky clean, brand new plane.

Ok guys, three Storm kits hit Bellingham this morning!!!

The quality of Grahams work is outstanding and, having previously built a Blackjack and Karisma, I know this build will go of without a hitch.

Here are a few pictures of my Storm.

AUW of my raw components: 178.8g

Is it possible to turn the tail boom upside down and mount the horizontal stabilizer on the bottom like the Snipe with this plane?

If so, does it still fly as well?

I was just about to ask the same question. I'd sure like to pull for up on my pull spring setup.

Mechanically its no problem, the boom is round and the stab pylon can be mounted any which way a person wanted.

I'm mostly curious about the horizontal stabilizers performance when mounted upside down.

I only have one Storm flying at present and it has the stab on the bottom. It handles fine. I thought initially that the elevator authority was slightly reduced but I need to finish my next one with the elevator on the top to compare.

If I am not mistaken, Mickey Nowell also built one with the stab below.

The stab section is symetrical, so the only issue is whether the downwash from the wing has any effect

But pull for up is definitely a good thing....if the flight characteristics are good.
Shouldn't the vertical be somewhat centered so that the horizontal splits it vertically?

Mine are all on top. I plan to try a bottom mount soon.
Latest blog entry: AIrcraft I've built.

Pretty long. The que has built slowly while I was busy with development and is probably about 4 months long now.

Excuse my lack of knowledge (also known as ignorance) but can someone please explain why pull for up is preferred.

Rex
