E-flite Power 160 - Tacon Bigfoot 160

Does anyone know if the included prop adapter that comes with the Power 160 bolts to the Tacon? My spinner requires tapped shaft and the Tacon adapter isn't tapped.

I'm hopeful to be able to order and use the eflite adapter.

Thx

Actually I found out the hard way it doesnt fit. I also have both motors and I the E-Flite 160 prop adapter is a different 4-bolt pattern than the Tacon 160. But its the same overall 12mm diameter shaft.

The picture shown of the Tacon motor is still using the tacon adapter. Here is a pitcture of the E-Flite one, notice the E-Flite one has a straight base while the Tacon one is angled towards the motor.

Crap!

Thanks for the heads up. Really appreciate the diligence. Unfortunately, that leaves me with the more expensive option which is a custom spinner. I was really hoping to use the E-Flite internally tapped 12mm adapter on my Tacon motor.

What I did for my 73" SBach and 1/4 hangar 9 super cub was put the Tacon prop adapter in a drill press vice and drill all the way through, then tap out the hole to I think it was 10/32 or 5mm? I forgot. Just take the spinner bolt and match it up.

Both times it wasnt perfectly centered but close enough not to cause any vibrations.

Yeah, my brother has a machine shop in his garage, but he's 2 states away! My H9 1/4 PA-18 Super Cub came with a nicely painted spinner which requires a tapped adapter.

I may be able to get TruTurn to custom make an adapter, otherwise I'll have to get a custom spinner/adapter combo.

Cheers

You could sell the tacon and get an e-flite. I was able to get mine for $75 used. Or ship the adaptor to your brother. Cant be that much to ship back and forth.

Read the post again. He was referring to possibly buying a used Eflite 160.

Thx for the heads up.

I suspect I'll either pull the trigger on a new P160, or have TruTurn make me a custom spinner/adapter for my Tacon motor. Either way, I have to go new. Cheers
