Altitude limiters, which one?

So here is my situation,
After getting back into the hobby after 20+ years I am looking at altitude limiters. My goal is to fly and practice so that I can become proficient again and eventually attend a few ALES competitions in the future.
So which of the limiters should I be looking at?
I would like to have both the altitude logging and the capabilities to limit my launch.
I have closely read Don's review of the HK Altitude limiter and am considering getting his or one directly from HK, but I have concerns if it would work for my application since I currently do not use the BEC on my ESC. I needed the weight in the nose for balance and a larger LIPO would not fit.
I know that there are other good choices out there such as the CAM and the Altis products. I really don't want to buy twice as the saying goes.
Which would you buy if you were in my shoes?

Altitude Limiters

The CAM unit from Soaring Circuits is the standard for ALES in this country. The Altis 4 is a good contender too, but the cost is considerably higher but it will data log.
If you would like a data logger which is self contained, a RAM3, also from Soaring Circuits is a good choice.
I have no experience of the others available, but no doubt someone else will chime in who knows about them.

I'm using the Sky Limit by Winged Shadow: http://www.wingedshadow.com/skylimit.html and I'm very happy with it. The only drawback to it is that it isn't allowed for F5J.

I don't think you will come across many "Official" F5J contests, so I'm not sure that aspect is too much of a problem. I like the CAM and the Sky Limit and would use either.

While the Sky Limit does not fully meet the requirements for F5J inasmuch as it can be programmed to allow motor restarts, it can also be programmed to NOT allow motor restarts and functionally accomplish the F5J requirements. I would expect that at the club level, that it is perfectly satisfactory for F5J use. And it will be entirely useful for competitors who expect to pursue F5J on a more casual basis.

Happy Landings,

Don

So to get both a altitude limiter and data logging I would have three choices, the HK that isn't all that good, a CAM and the RAM3, or the Altis 4,
Am I understanding this correctly?

To get both the Altis seems like a better buy, for $73 or the CAM and RAM for $125.
Anyone have any thoughts when the Altis 4 will be available in the US?

No, but you can add a separate logger.

The separate data logger for the CAM is the RAM3.

Will the Altis 4 be in the same price range as the Altis 3?
