Dual battery in parallel will just give you longer flight times. It won't make it any faster.

Dual battery in series will give you a 6s which will require a completely different power system than you have now. Something much lower in KV and still within the max amp draw limits of your packs. Since you'd be running a 2200 6s setup. So whatever the "C" rating is x 2.2 is your max amp rating for those packs.

I've never ran anything more than 3s in my Stryker so others will have to comment on a power system for you...

---

Edit, just noticed you posted the C rating. 30c 2200 batts can only handle 66 amps. In parallel, that would go up to 132 amps. In Series it's still 66 amps but twice the voltage.

Always want a F-27C, but never got a chance to buy one... so I was excited when I recently got a chance to buy all the parts needed to build one for $40 total, pre-bundled from someone who was going to build one from spare parts but never got around to it.

I already had a Eflite 40 Amp slim ESC, and Himax 3000KV motor, so it did not take very long last night to put it all together.

Maidened it today and it flew great! Now I have a little wing I can throw in the car for 'wind days'.

what size prop is on that 3000?Nice looking but if running 4s or even 3s I would recommend a much higher rated esc than 40

It's pretty mild. Running a 4.5x4.5, and on the bench with a fully charged 3S 2200 40C, I was pushing 29A and 300-something watts, momentarily.

The Himax is noted for not being particular robust for over-wattage conditions, (max rated 275W), so I took it pretty easy during the maiden, but I figured that in the air, with prop unloaded, mostly less than full throttle, and with voltage coming down from inital full charge, that it would be pretty safe.

Sure enough, at five minutes I landed and had 55% of the battery left, motor was dead-cold, ESC warm, and battery barely over room-temp.

Would anyone know on a DX 8 howto put the elevons on a switch so they go up for launching and back down for normal flight.

Simply set a gear->elevator mix. Activate by the gear switch.
