Hi all,
Long wondered model with which to start the project AMPLAN.
Finally, I chose the model Comet: GULL II.
The model will be made in the size of the original -30 ".

I have a 30" Sparky. It's over-powered with a Park 180 (16mm dia) motor. I used a scavenged AR6400 in mine. I think you might be over-powered there too!

Excellent, awiatik! It will be good to have some company on this build. I'll be watching yours with much interest.

I don't think that motor will be too much. You can't go much smaller or lighter than that, for motors in outdoor models. It's a 10 gram motor, so about 30 watts max in, should be good for models around 5 oz (150 g) or so.

If you want to save a bit of weight on the RC components, you could consider using the excellent, very low cost Orange or (even better) Lemon recievers, HK 1.7 gram conventional servos, and Plush 6 amp ESCs. I've used that setup in several small models, with great success.

Enjoy your build!

Hi HarryD,
Your workshop was an inspiration to me, this model has long wanted to build, and this project AMPLAN was a great opportunity to finally created my little: GULL II.
This equipment electro already I used in other models of this size and even larger, and it was OK.

Hi Janusz and brokenspar,
Thanks for the nice words.
I worked a little on the model and created just enough for now.
