Help!
Micro EDF?

well, i have yet another project in the works,

and need some micro edfs, 30 mm seems to be the smallest i can find.

Do they make them any smaller? or would i have to home-build something?

thanks guys!

30mm is the smallest you will likely find.. Most people build custom ducts and cut down the blades from a 30mm fan to go smaller if needed..

thats a good idea because the power/weight ratio is better with bigger fans. plus then you can afford the weight of better gyros etc.

Well, I'm not sure but I think I've seen some Air Hog toys that may have had smaller EDF. Likely brushed motors and very cheap propeller though. You may want to check the toy section next time you go to walmart or other store.

EDF40s are probably the strongest for thrust to weight, but the amp draw is insane.

Ive been looking at a bunch of them, the amp draw seems to be around 8 amps for even the cheapest model. i think your thinking of a 55mm which run around 30 amps

What kind of plane are you looking at building? ...a near scale model, or something out of your (or someone else's) head?
