Beginner Pylon Racer

Anyone know of a cheap pylon racer to start learning on? Not a newbie to speed, but dont want to risk cracking up an expensive plane due to inexperience. Would like to be upgradable for even more speed if poss. Thanks every1

I too would vouch for the Nooner. It is very well behaved, and fast enough to get you into things. Well priced, and if you build it square, it's a great plane. I fly mine on a Mega now and it has seen a ton of flights.

Be warned though....you'll be wishing for more speed in no time flat once you get into these planes.

I started with the T-strike. It was very easy to launch and land. I think I paid $90 for the kit, but I bought it from a friend.

Doesnt the nooner come in an ARC version? Anyone have a pic of what it looks like "out of the box"? Have never attempted any serious building projects...mostly ARF versions.

It doesn't look like this

Got a little carried away, and sprouted another engine nacelle. I've always wanted a twin

Dude, there's still room for a third motor in the nose....

Why stop at two motors when you can have three?

Hi,

How about the Gary Wright Kwik - E? It meets the Quickie 05 class rules that we fly at the Nats. One motor, prop, and battery pack. The plane is about 75 mph and big enought to see. We fly on a very large course, and you have time to take a breath between pylons.

That's an old link...try:

Great little kit, very hard to argue with the price.

RocketBob - yep, twin 400's is the plan right now, running on 7 CP-1300's. I'm trying to keep the current draw and weight reasonable.

Mind you, 3 S400's on 6 GP-3300's would work too...

I'm almost finished covering it, and I'll post a photo when it's done.
