JR 9303 2.4 flash memory backup

I was reading the manaul for the 2.4ghz version of the 9303 and found this comment:

All preprogrammed data is protected by a flash
memory that guards against memory loss main
transmitter battery failure.

Does this mean the watch battey has finally been replaced with flash ram?

And... there is a way to download the TX memory to your computer. So if you send it in for service and they clear it out... you can reload it.

You can also tranfer one or all model memories to another 9303

I need to dig deeper in the manual and find how to do it... It uses the buddy cord port.

Is it still serial based or did they finally make a USB version? I have the older one for the PCM 10X and I could not get a USB to serial converter to work at the time. Most newer PC's don't have serial ports anymore.

They have a new one, which is USB and cheaper to boot: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=JRPA310 The software also looks better, so it's win-win-win.

Sounds like something is corrupted. I'd send it in to Horizon and not fly with it any longer till the issue is resolved.
