yeah, this is more than a buzz it is vibrating due to the motor continuously running inside (at least this is what it is sounds like).

guess 8s is the way to go

Well I thought I had ok performance on 6s and A60-6xs. I was hovering low letting the wind push me downstream. When I torque rolled the wind blew the nose over a little and I punched out, but didn't have enough ooomph and smacked the tail. So 8S here I come .... based on what I have seen on this forum, Soon as the hobby fund is replenished.

I just got my DM4330 back from having it rewound to 216 kv. I'm going to try 12s on the Edge. Not sure when I'm going to get to it, but now I don't have any excuses to work on it.

you may want to check the quality of the batteries. i just noticed after 2 seasons with my 6s5300 packs they are not holding voltage like they used to. caught me off guard, but i was getting about 10-15amps less than what i expected on a freshly charged pack.

20x8 Xoar. Zoom, Zoom...

I just swapped out the Hacker A60-7S with the A60-8S just so I could try the 12S setup with the 21x10 Falcon. About the same Watts and thrust as the 20x8, but a bit more torque. Both go to about 70A. The plane doesn't need more power, but I'd like to see the difference in torque. I had the 21x10 on 10S originally and it hung on the prop just a bit better, but the 12S and 20x8 was way better at the top-end. No contest.

So now this may be the best of both worlds, and I can even try the 22x8 on 12S... it does clear and I've already flown the prop with the 10S setup. I'm not sure what the throttle response is going to be like, but we'll soon see.

Good suggestion... just picked up enough 40C 6S 3300 for my 12S setups to last me until Christmas with a 15% off coupon from Hobbypartz. Free shipping over $100 as always.

fresh gensace 5300's and glacier 5000's - all low mileage. I feel the need for speed.

I'm using the falcon 20x7 and vess 20B
If you want to move gradually then start with 19x8

I don't, but if you think it is better for the engine I will...

Both your falcon and vess seem to have a higher pitch than the recommended x6 pitch (which does make sense to me). I am using a 17x6 on the 20RA, so it seems like the pitch should increase a little when you go up to a 20" prop if you go by the "half the diameter rule."

The last thing I would want do is to impose on others. Though in my 5 year experience, I have learned that breaking in an engine with right prop will give you some extra assurance in prolonging the engines life. For the others who disagree, then my only argument would be is it "won't hurt" if you do.
The 20x6 in my experience won't give you the speed range one would expect from an edge. Particularly if you are into a mix of freestyle and 3d. High energy maneuvers requires some speed to compensate for the awesome light weight frame we have. The 6 pitch also made me feel as if the engine wasn't loaded enough.
Try the falcon as it fits smack in the middle and get a Vess or a xoar 8 pitch for the sake of trying it out. My setup is used in an environment with 80's to 90' F and 100 meters above sea level.
All the best!

Sounds good. I will get both a 6 and an 8 and see which one I like better. Thanks for all the suggestions.
