Looks better than the E-flite Splendor.

Sebart called...they want their Wind S Pro decal back!
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-...612902059.html

Sebart planes are the subject of a lot of clones lately.
The HobbyKing Mellizo biplane is a sort of copy of the Sebart Miss Wind....now this one.

They certainly have enough "FMS" labels on the plane !
Just seems a bit small for a 6s plane

Here is a USA supplier

http://www.diamondhobby.com/airplane...mm-f3a-olympus

It looks OK but the video is a bit jerky to really see how it flies.

It is available in Oz but I do not know the pricing. This is the distributor.

http://www.acehobbyaustralia.com.au/...p-p-31413.html

I have a Splendor and was disappointed with it for a number of reasons. I ended up fitting a "normal" Rx and making huge changes to the servo to control surface geometry and throws but to me it still needs a lot of input to fly smoothly. Perhaps also owning a Wind 50 has spoilt me. I need a foamy to be able to fly off my home runway so I am happy to give the Olympus a go.

EDIT The price in Oz is $320 and they are available at the distributors.

If you want more of a pattern type foamy, I would recommend you look at the Commander 40EP (recently renamed the AirMaster 40EP) from TheWorldModels/The Wingsmaker

2 versions:

or
http://ecsvr.com/wgm/ShopDisplayproducts.asp?Search=Yes

High quality, great parts/support, and best of all, flies great!

Thanks for the links. I think 1400mm is about the lowest wingspan I would go to be sort of realistic. The Airmaster is 1320mm.

We just finished assembling one of these FMA Olympus
looks good and yet a couple of things I really didn't like

The mfg really trapped the servo leads going aft, also used very long leads on servo - IF you attempt to replace servos be prepared for a-little work unless you are able to feed a piece of heavy string back thru to the servo mounting points - I didn't do that --- and had to do some innovative drilling with long piece of brass tubing
the servo ends are a lousy fit to std JR connectors - I swapped out all extensions
I alsoswapped out all servos and used Spektrum (Savox mfgd) HV servos
much more torque. they fit perfectly but you have to do your own servo arm connectors as the ones in the kit are CAed in and break if you try to undo the nut
other than the servos --the kit is very well thought out
I also mounted the rx aft the canopy and added a tray forward for the power battery
The batts we use are 2900 and 3200 ma 6 cell-. Also the new servos are fed by a A123 2 cell 1100ma pack.
NO BEC thank you ! I have given up on BEC setups for other than profile foamies .
The mfg did up the ESC/BEC to a 70 amp ESC/5 Amp BEC looks very nicely made but -----
We compared it to our Splendor -
It weighs 3 ounces less -
it is much longer in the aft fuselage and has a much large horizontal stab and smaller elevators
Tho the wingspan is slightly more, the chord is less, so wing area is less

This model will likely like to keep moving and that's fine - we are using these models for the intermediate FAI patterns - The Splendor will do any FAI maneuvers and I suspect this model will do em as well perhaps better tracking - we will see.
I am going to compare Watts on different props - against the Splendor setup -
I don't care for 5 cell setups as compared to 6 cell - too many amps needed for same wattage .
my choice .

Thanks for the update on the model. Looking forward to a flight report especially compared to the Splendor which I have a love hate relationship with.

Hate....I find it very easy to break. I have had to replace the fuselage once, the horizontal stabilizer twice and the nose once. In my mind it is a fragile plane and other pilots at my club have the same feeling about it and the Carbon Yak. I do fly it in a paddock at the back of my house which it a bit bumpy but I also fly other foamies here and they do not break. I did not like the feel of the ASX Rx. I disconnected it and stuck an Orange Rx on top. I am not a fan of Orange as I have found them inconsistent in range tests but I had one in the box so I fitted it as I do not fly the Splendor too far away. The geometry of the servo arms to horns wrong to what I consider to be correct. This was remedied when I moved the connections in 3 holes. I had to cut out foam to get the balance right with the battery. It will tip stall on landings if you come in too slowly and cut power.
Love.....once you get used to it does fly OK.
