DS wing

Hey guys, a little while back I was asking questions about making a DS wing. Well here is the progress, they are foam core with 1/32 ply skins and hardwood leading edge. About 50" wing

I will I will, I pulled the left wing out of the press this morning, I'm hoping to have time to cut and glue the LE on this afternoon. I will post pictures if I get that far.
Servo location recommendation?

Well guys did a little work on the wing today but forgot to take picks. What I did was trimmed up the ply wood and cut out the LE material. Other words not much was done. For servo location, I'm trying not to use a wing servo but ether a mini or standard size mostly for cost. Any recommendations on oz. tork?

How are you going to make the wing stuff enough for DS?
Wouldn't the spars go in before covering?

Spar? Did he mention 3/4" hardwood LE, 1/32" ply, bagged carbon and FG?
Servo? 8" from the root, pushrods at 9.5" just in front of CG.

Don't forget the steel rods 1" back from the LE, if you want it stiff and heavy. Laminating film would give a slick finish to the wood with minimal effort.

I love it guys! What the plan so far is to build the wing as is with 2" wide carbon on the center line and see if this is the airfoil I'm going to use, so its just a test platform. If it comes out the way I plan for it to fly, in other words Stu likes flying it, I am going to set up the Mill and make wing molds out of aluminium. I love having a machine shop. Stu, do you want me to cut out the servo areas and battery area before I send it your way?

I've always wanted a nice fast moulded flying wing! This looks like a fun project. I imagine your sheeted wing will be plenty strong to confirm the performance of the planform, etc. Looking forward to hearing more...

I hope! I'm going to try and hit up the shop this weekend or tomorrow, it really depends on my work load with my classes, oh and finishing my application for grad school.

Right now we, my father and I, are working on generating the wing in CAD and transferring it into the Mill
