I actually want a 10S 2200W (approx) solution in the CS12......
Which should need around 800kv or so I think??
But no motor I can find is well suited to that......

Peter, I was hoping to achieve the same objective with this motor

Got the motor six months ago but haven't got around to setting it up yet. Need to balance the motor bell before giving it a shot. This might be a good opportunity.

I'm picking up new bearings for my 700-60-935 today. Once installed I can tell you what 10S does. I think it will be close to what you're looking for and kinda light for this setup. 500 grams with HV80 CC.
I'm using it on 11S and 12S for around 4K watts max at 90 amps with GensAce 3300 25C batteries. Getting 10-11 lbs thrust. I'm thinking 10S will be between 7-8 lbs.
I'll let you know as soon as I get the fan set back up for testing.

It will be around 75A as I said before, 2300-2400 watts, I base this on all the original testing I did on the SM fans, and how the numbers correlate to the CS12 testing I did ages ago. Its a nice mild setup for 8s.

Ok, thanks all for the bits of information on 8S/10S CS12 combos.
Time for some numbers/specs, maths and thinking...

Do you think the 700-60-935 is a bit light for that 4000W?
And more suited, stress and lifespan-wise, to the 10S power level.
I was already thinking 700-68-935 for my 10S idea.... but annoyed by no 8mm version of that (probably too heavy gauge windings to fit that, so they didn't bother).

I will get one of those 850kv heli motors, just for testing things. But I don't want to use an outrunner. Though..... nice and cheap, LOL.

I dont think its too light, the lander uses a 1000kv motor for 10s and is around 110amps 4100watts so the 935kv should drop that down a bit .....maybe 100amps that would be really good I think

The Lander is a 4074, the 700-60 is a...3960....
Though HET's seems to quote/do the numbers of 'bit cheaper' next size up motors.
But I would still get the 700-68 even for 10S

The results will be exactly the same, it is just a bigger motor for an easier job of it - possibly keeping it running more optimally too.

The motor seems to be hanging in just fine.
It came with an SM-80 running on 12S in my Habu 32 @3k watts.
Wires are nice and shiney, but bearings have been bad since I got it....And
this is actually a replacement for the first one which was worse.

The closest thing to it is the 700-83-975. And that is a ton more weight!

Oh yeah... the 700-68 is 900kv
Getting too low.... but might still be ok.

The new bearings didn't help. There's something wrong with the motor shaft or balance or something. I can't figure it out. So I'm giving up for a bit and do up my Jetfan with 40-74-1200 and be done with it.

I did send a note to HET to see if they have a replacement shaft for this motor. Seems the rear of the shaft won't spin true in a brand new bearing. It's been a noisy pain since I got it.

Hi Michael, Sorry to hear the new bearings you got didn't work out. I have been watching your efforts to swap them out and have some questions for you. How the heck did you separate the ends from the can on your motor? I have one of the 800 series and looking at it I cant even tell how the ends are held on. I like the HET's but their 8mm shaft selections are limited. Just how hard would it be to swap out from a 5 to 8mm shaft? The bearing OD. would stay the same so the new ID. at 8mm would make the race area quite small. Are bearings available for that? And finally how would you change a shaft? Do you have to press it out of its armature? Thanks for your input, and please give us your impressions of your JetFan 90.

Yes please do tell about getting the can apart. One of the motors in my a-10 has a loose bearing and I need to tighten it up. It wiggles in the front housing, a spot of jb weld in the right place will cure it, but I have to get it apart first

Locktite bearing and sleeve retaining compound would be best, even coat on the bearing then drop it back in and let it set. This was a real issue with the long can ARC 36mm motors, I had a lot of them with bearings floating round in the front plate, still got 4 on the shelf that need to be fixed.
