Recently I Installed a Magnum 1.80AR engine in a Great Planes EXTRA 300 Patt Wagstaff with Perry pump and Brisson Pits Muffler.
This engine has 5.4HP!! but for reasons I really not know it's out of production.
In my country some friends told me it's a great engine, but I can't find any information outside.
Has some one any experience or commens to share with me?

Superb Magnum 1.80AR
Although I did not find any information about Magnum 1.80AR in this forum and some others...
Although this engine is out of production...
Although my friends told me to forget this engine..
This was my impression after break-in last week:
. 4 L of Wildcat 10% nitro 18% oil + 96ml castor oil to end with a fuel of 10% nitro and 20% oil content;
. OS glow plug #8
. Break-in with APC 16X8 prop
. Break-in in sequences of 3 to 4 minutes until end of Wildcat fuel (it was really a hard process)...
. Engine works in every first attempt, in all sequences!!!
. Transition from idle to full trottle, instantaneous!!! (Can't believe, it works like my MVVs 77 and 91)
HARD TO BELIEVE:
My friend with a new Moki 1.80 and I with Magnum 1.80AR side to side, the same break-in.
. Magnum - starts every attempt imediatly, zero problems!!
. Moki - lot of problems... Not easy to start,not easy to set idle.
Moki 1.80 with 0% nitro + 20% castor oil
TopFlite 18X8 prop
I am very glad with Magnum 1.80
Next Sunday I am replacing 16X8 to 18X6 APC prop and put my EXTRA 300S Patt Wagstaff to fly.
Maybe I will not use nitro. Only castor oil.
I can't find any more information concerning Magnum 1.80
It's really said, because my first impression it's REALLY GREAT.
