Back up battery

Looking for a way to wire a second battery into the first allowing the second to charge the first at about 1C while the first battery is used to power the motor. Thinking of using a small bec to provide the link between batteries but I don't know if a bec will allow power to flow in only one direction.

Can anyone she's some light on the issue?

If you have two batteries why not just wire them in parallel so the power is shared by them ?

Basically it's not possible to charge a battery while at the same time discharging it. All that happens is the "charging" current goes to the load and the "main" battery is discharged at a slightly lower rate.

Yeah, to charge the first battery at 1C you'd have to have the second supplying the full draw+1C. No point if you're just using a pair of batteries. Now, something like a small gasoline generator or other relatively exotic setup where you're using the battery as more of a buffer...That might work. But complicated.
