It has to be a physical issue then oscar.... if it only just does not work mounted in your modified Gear Well for the angle rake forward.

You will have to work backwards once it is mounted taking it out bit by bit, by moving it upwards with the screws loosened gradually in stages until it works.... then find out what physical change in position caused it to work by relieving the pressure off it somewhere .

Also, if your depth of the wheel well is so that the whole wheel is hitting the top of it before the retraction cycle finishes....thus causing the gear mechanism of the motor and jackscrew to screech a little and place stress on it by not contacting the micro switch, and relying only on the circuitry timer inside to stop the motor cycle..... that also might be your problem?

If the retract wheel is hitting the well and is missing the micro switch con tact and relying on it cutting out this could prove fatal in flight ...I have had total power outs where the gear stalls on retraction and the surge relieved the RX of its needed amps causing the RX to just power out ..what comes next in that situation I'm sure everyone can imagine ..a plastic bag is generally needed to carry the bits home
