new gyro kit from china, new guy
hi guys, i posted this in a panic,, was member long time ago but forgot,, check out new gyro kit in ebay called cooler, look for autogyro cooler shows parts and flight video swwms to fly well, forgive syntax and spelling, two arrests and 2 strokes, trrying to get back, buck

Interesting until the head breaks - it looks like that plastic that won't take glue (polypropylene?).Also I can't make out the flapping head material and bearing assembly.
Nice to see an alternative gyro though.It is not on the UK Ebay site yet. |

I'm not sure who originally designed it, but it does look remarkably like the Soda-Pup from AcoA
. If you've never built from scratch I guess it's a decent deal. The link Joe posted has enough pictures that one could easily duplicate the build from scratch. I would be interested in the build thread, I won't be buying the kit though. It's getting tough to come up with a truely 'NEW" design, just about everything has been done at some point.

Did any of you guy's see that picture of the' C30' on that site.I could not get any information on it.Any one have any luck.it looks as if the Chinese have made a kit!!!!

I did ask about the Cooler only, not about a C30 - sorry.

Package arrived today (5 days - HK to Europe, thats fast!).
This is what you get:  Details of the head:   I am surprised by the quality so far. Wood parts are well cut, wood quality is good and the head (preassembled, screws all fixed with loctite) appears to be made to last. The plastic is not of the cheap, brittle kind but fiber enforced and looks and feels solid. Also there is a nice, large ball bearing and its spins very easily. The rotor blades are profiled (flat-bottomed, looks like a thin Clark-Y to me), made from balsa and already covered. Their weight appears to be low and equal for all. Whats missing is a printed manual - there is a CD with lots of images. The English text of the readme file is a bit on the funny side too. But what I can see from here the build is straightforward and not hard to do. I'll keep you posted on my progress. |
