So all kits ordered now will have upgraded wires installed?

Anyone get an FPV setup in theirs yet?

Yes, all kits shipped after 1/25/13 have 16 gauge wires installed. We have contacted everyone who ordered before that and are supplying rewire kits free of charge.

I flew 16 packs through my Salty Ultra today, no new places so no new video
I did try some 1800 mah 3S packs just to see the wingloading and if it would high alph even better, it did got 6 minute flights.
AUW with 1800 3S and a bit wet was 36 oz

edit: after recharging I determined I could bump the flight timer to 8 minutes on the 1800 3S lipos

Belly Pan Cracked after landing on Frozen Ground

I had my maiden flight with the Polaris Ultra at our winter fun fly. It flew fine in the gusty conditions. Problem was the 20 deg F temp and no snow. Apparently, landing on the frozen ground damaged the plastic belly pan at the step.
My current plan is to cut away about 2" of the belly pan from the step forward and fill it in with 1/16" plywood to give me a rugged skid plate that is flush with the remaining plastic pan.
Anyone else had a similar repair and can post their fix?

Thanks,
Tony

Great, energy managing flight. Now I feel like a "throttle jockey", because I am hard pressed to get 8 minutes on my Polaris XL. Maybe the Ultra is more aerodyamic.

Tony, I have one customer who replaced the entire plastic pan with thin ply. That would be an option.

Just tested a similar plastic cutting board at -10C (14F). Still totally flexible! I can leave it out tonight and test at about -20C (4F below zero) if necessary!

What kind of adhesive would stick to it?

That cutting board looks like it's made of polyethylene. Makes a great cutting board because nothing sticks to it. ...including glue!

I used Scotch Double Sided Permanent tape on my belly pan. It is really sticky!

So far so good although I haven't done a lot of cold weather testing.
