I had the jr's in and they worked with my 12fg, but I switched them out for the spektrum. Was also using a regular 4.8 rx battery.

Over the weekend I had a very rough landing, I mean the type you normally write off the plane as trashed and unrepairable. However with the Electra, the only (and I mean the only) damage I got was a broken flex plate on the mains. That's it. Freaking crazy.

Quick call to BVM for replacements, showed up from FL to CA a couple of days later and I'm back in business within 30 minutes.

Wow. I was pretty sold on the Electra before, now I'm a true believer. Thanks Bob for the great idea of using the flex plates to save the planes from more extensive repair work.

The BVM jets are very well designed. The factory models see many hours of flying every season. Happy to hear it's your new favorite jet.

Bob's right, the reason BVM jets are what they are is because they fly the heck out of them and find issues long before we do. I have to agree, the flex plates have saved my Electra a few times, great design...

Progress made..... I have changed both mechanical retract servos out and all works fine now.

Does anyone have any comments to make about the Viofan against fitting a Tam Dynamax ? The set up I have purchased is the 10s...

EVF for sure. Its rock solid and does not break. No need to worry about cooling and all the other crap like other fans. They just work day in and day out and perform well no matter how hot it is outside.

If you are one of those sound guys then you can put a Tam120 rotor (dynamax rotor cut down) on the EVF. Then you have the best of both worlds. But I could care less all EDFs sound like well.......EDFs.

I have been looking at the BVM throw settings for the Electra. Does everyone set their Electras up as per the manual ?
Also the 10s Viofan I have fitted in the Electra gave me a watt test at 5000 watts dropping to just below this level ? Is this what I should be expecting from this set up ? It has absolutely bags of power....
Cant wait to fly it later this week if the weather is suitable.

BV posted throws are a bit sensitive to me. I usually start around 80% of what the instructions say..............
