Aluminum 12b 90mm from HK.......

I've picked up two of these. I'm going to set one up in a Haoye shroud for use between 4kw and 5kw. I'll post more pictures and data when I have it.

They've been there for about a month. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago along with a lipo so I used slow shipping.

I've got it together the rotor isn't perfect but seems to run fairly smooth. There's a slight vibration at very low power but not enough for me to worry about. I'll post some more info tomorrow.

Lee, that looks cast. The webbing inside the hub is/looks cast not machined. If it is, I would be concerned on the strength, at those power levels. esp. any casting from "over there".

Yes it's cast. You know I'm their strength level beta tester. I'll let you know what it can do. Most won't push it past 4kw. If I can run one at 5kw+, then others can feel confident at more reasonable levels.

With cast metal I'm more concerned with internal cracks, voids, etc. I doubt they are inspected internally for defects. The blades could fail at any power level.

100%, Bob. I'm sure they never heard of RT/UT/MT testing.

Looks nice! I have the 5 blader DPS for 3400W on 10S, I wonder how this would change things? I imagine it'll draw a bit more power.

Here's the link for the rotor, btw.

Dang that's got some steep blade root angle.
Metallurgy is almost an unknown area in bottom level Chinese manufacturing.
Some would say in most all manufacturing... but that's a digression.

I wonder how much porosity there is in those rotors, I also wonder the grade and quality of the aluminum.

Well guys I obviously can't answer questions about metallurgy or manufacturing process, but I can tell you that I ran this at about 6kw (12s/140a) today on the bench and it's still in one piece. So even though it may not be as good as an aluminum rotor could be, it seems to be up to the task at hand.

I plan to fly it tomorrow afternoon if the forcast is correct.
