Good question, I guess you would need one of their molex adaptors.

Angelo, I listened to them too.

DOH! My A-10 had a mishap, I am in need of a set of landing gear that comes on the Mig-29 and A-10 ARFs, If anyone is not using theirs due to it being a hand launched bird, can you part with the gear?

I have the gear, but it is mounted on the Mig, and the CA wicked into it. I can't get it out! Been flying the snot out of the Mig-29 and the saber. I don't understand why, but they have fast become my go to planes when my others are having problems. I like 'em so much I just ordered a 50 mm Mig 15 and a kit 50 mm saber. The Mig I'll be picking up tomorrow from the local warehouse, and the saber will arrive in a few weeks from Hobby king in China. I am currently reading the thread on the larger skyangel planes....I will be out of $ in no time. ---------Metalguy

Can anyone suggest which ones of these little 35mm jets to go for as a beginner-edf, basically - which one flies best out-of-the box with no modifications. I'd be buying this as a little bonus (to myself) from the German hobbyking warehouse which I just realized has a very limited selection, so basically I have the F16 or Red Arrows Hawk to choose from.

Honestly I think the F-15 is very forgiving for a 35mm edf (as long as you have some time on a 4ch), I havent had the F-16 nor the Hawk to compare it too tho. HobbyKing is awesome, but hobbyb.com is a GREAT place for the 35mm edf's.

I only have experience with the F-16. It easily gets stuck in high alpha stalls under power and also pitches up noticeably on throttle increase. The high alpha stall is very easy to enter if you launch with too much throttle or too high of an angle.

It's other flying characteristics seem fine for a first EDF to me, but I can't recommend it.

+1 The F-15 is probably best for a beginner to cut your teeth on EDFs. It will float at lower throttles and hauls on 3s (with upgraded ESCs) and there are no bad habits.

The other cool thing about the F-15 is you can put a larger lipo in like a 3s 850 and CG is good like you did in your thread. if I had an 850 in my F-18's they would just fly into the ground.

I would have thought that the Red Arrows Hawk would be the easiest out of those 2 - the larger 50mm one is pretty stable

Agree that the F-15 is a nice selection - it is much more stable than the MIG-29

Are you serious? You could put a 3s 850mah in the F-15. Isn't it a micro just like the rest of them?

The micro T-45 from what I've heard, is not quite as benign as it's larger version. It takes some mods to work like the 50mm.

After fixing the thrust line issue on the Mig-29, I removed some foam in the lipo area and use the same 3s 800 mAh packs as in the F-15. The fixed Mig flys more like the F-15 now. They both rip along pretty good on 3s.

Fits perfect in that spot. In the Mig-29, the lipo gets moved forward about a half inch to clear the rear of the canopy. You can use smaller lipos by just placing them more forward in the battery compartment. They really did a good job on these twins.

I have the Nano T45 in the 35mm fand size. Not a beginners jet. On two cells it is an animal. I have not tried 2 cells yet. I meant I have not tried 3 cells yet. All my flying has been on 2 cells plenty fast this way.

I just received the 35mm F16 kit from HobbyB. What is the best way to set it up? Flaperons? Spoilerons? Any pictures. (got the 50mm kit too)
