I'm getting about 1400w and I love it!

Well...at 4.5 to 5.5 finished weight, and 200W per pound, I think between 900W and 1100W would be pretty sweet. I'm at about 1000W and the plane has respectable pull out of a hover. It's pretty fast on the 16x8 I run, and I'm only on 4S....

I am pulling 1380 max on 4s and was 1475 on 6 s. It is insane....

Can't say for sure, as I had some really heavy 5S 4000mAH packs, that I had bought to also use in my 72" Sbach. The Sbach has been sold, so, I really thought those packs were too heavy, so, I sold them and have some 5S 45C 3850mAH Thunder Power packs, ordered..... So, my Edge has yet to be maidened. And....i am going t be using a Hacker A50-14XS, which should have a lot of power....It can swing a 15X8 or 16X7 prop!!

Were you comparing the 58" Edge to the 59" Slick? What big gassers were you comparing the 58" Edge to?

I have the 87" Extra SHP on 12s with the recommended Hacker motor. For longer flight times I'm thinking about converting it to gas with a DA 60 or DA 70. What is your recommendation for an engine for the 87" SHP?

Q80-8M...... More efficient than the "recommended" Hacker motor...

With proper throttle management, I bet you would get longer flights than with the A60-18L....but no, not as long as with gas....that is true...

and no, I had both motors, flight times were the same.

but on a serious note...what did you find the difference (if any) was? Did you feel like the q80 had more power with the same flight time, it was smooth, or anythign at all? considering a 50cc electric in the near future

Hotay.....I haven't had both motors, so, I would have though that as hot as I have been told the A60-18L ran compared to the Q80, that the Q80 would have gotten a bit longer flying time, as heat is just wasted energy....
