T-rex 250 Pitch Range

I couldn't get an answer from the 250 forums. What is an ideal pitch range for a 250 with a 4200KV motor and 14T pinion? Is +12 to -12 too much?

Pitch range is subjective, what's too low for me may be too high for you. Pitch range determines the responsiveness of the vertical movement. If you find that the heli is too sensitive to your throttle stick movements, reduce the pitch range.

It also depends on the moves you execute on the heli. Do you need the heli to shoot up like a rocket? You'll need more pitch range. I suspect you're new to this, so worry about that later. Start with +/- 9 degrees, and adjust according to your preference.

This might help http://runryder.com/helicopter/galle..._manual-lo.pdf Manual recommended is 11degs but as Frye said 9-10 is a good value to start with but dun go too hi as to bog your motor or too low to need too hi a headspeed just to hover.

For my 250 size FBL (Skyartec X3V) with 4500kV motor, 14T pinion, 2S battery, I'm using a pitch range of -12 to +12 degrees. According to the manual, I can use -11 to +11

Make sure you use a digital pitch gauge to check your pitch and confirm its really what you think it is! (Using a manual gauge with bubble level I was off by about 2-3 degrees)

Once the pitch range is set, I then use my pitch curve to give me the pitch value I want.

For normal flying I use a curve that starts at -4 degrees pitch, and then goes to zero pitch at 50% throttle, then goes to 12 degrees at 100% throttle. The throttle curve with this is 0 to 100% linear.

This is a gentle setting for normal flight/beginners. If you were using a 3S battery, I would expect you would need to use lower values for the throttle curve?
