I will be doing some tests soon. I wanted to used the same head unit....but got no response from that company, sad cause I would have purchase many of them. I see no harm in using G-10 Garolite for the head and a simple gearbox from Great Planes. Not much MFG required, I think she be even lighter than the original.

Chris......your thoughts?

Hi Dave,
What head unit are you referring too? The one pictured in post #226? That is a FlyingBalsa unit which is still alive and well. I remember sending a box full of those to Joe some time ago. I'm actually about to cut another batch of those fairly soon.

I can highly recommend the Flying Balsa Gen IV head. It is a good bit of kit. In my opinion ..this is far better set-up to the G-10.
I have two of them and would happily purchase more...but the freight costs and the very poor rate of exchange at the moment puts it just over AUD $30,00...and I'm afraid for me ..that's way out of my pocket. But for those that can...grab one !
Happy Landings
Chris...

Today one of the HS85BB got worn.
In order to reach the right head movement i installed longer arms.

Now i need to buy better servos. I prefer mg. What servos do you use?
