Three Phase Alternator - Three Phase Motor?

This video shows a Tera Hobby brushless motor directly connected to a Hyperion ZS3020 motor. Spinning the Tera motor shaft, either by hand, or with a power drill instantly drives the Hyperion motor in lock step rotation. Placing a bit of drag on the driven motor's bell results in slowing down the battery operated drill driving the "alternator".

No computer magic is involved, these two motors are simply directly wired to each other. Reversing two wires also reverses the "motors" rotation.

I've also done this with various Hacker motors, and other brands. Not all combinations will work. Like using two identical motors will not work. One seems to need to be slightly bigger than the other. All of them will turn the driven motor, but by "Cogging", not by lock step. Also, direct very low resistance connections must be made between the two motors. The voltages involved are low, and currents relatively high. Common Radio Shack type jumpers will not do the job.

The purpose is to show that our brushless motors are somewhat like a synchronous three phase motor, driven by an ESC that allows a DC battery to drive the motor.
