Ask your lawyer about freedom of speech and whether you have the right to spam a forum that isn't owned by you using a "copyright marking" as an excuse to do so. I think your lawyer will inform you that you have no such rights on the internet.

You've been in violation of RCgroups rules almost since the first day you posted, it just so happens that you've now come up on the moderators radar. Everyone else is only allowed to advertise for their perspective site once weekly. Do you feel that you shouldn't be subject to the same rules that apply to everyone else?

Sure we can. As long as we all play by the rules and don't be surprised when we're brought in line when we don't. KB is expecting everyone here to feel sorry for him even though he's broken the rules intentionally since basically the first day he ever posted.

In fact he's been asked on more than one occasion by forum members, including myself, to not spam threads, yet he continued the behavior anyway. Now he posts a "Woe is Me" thread up to try and garner sympathy. I don't feel sorry for someone that has continuously broken the rules on literally thousands of occasions, yet feels wronged because he's finally being told not to do it anymore?

"The Rules" here are 85% 'whatever gets reported is a violation'. Most photos are accompanied by a superimposed copyright. It's not "advertising" when they do it, so why is it when KB does it? Specially since his site does NOT sell helicopters, it just photos and documents them.

I'm not siding with anyone, just against differential application of deliberately-ambiguous rules.

Photos should be posted for a reason to help explain something ... so just popping them into a thread for no good reason is spamming IMO. Otherwise, photos should be OK.

The definition of "spam" is commercial content you didn't ask for. The only remotely-commercial element of KB's photos is the copyright super. And he didn't even use that until some commercial sites stole his photos for their own use.

The frequent habit of quoting photos several times within the same thread is a lot more annoying.

So if I post 12 photos in my next post without one word associated with the photos that's not spam? I think it is, even though there is no "commercial content" associated with the photos.

It might be "clutter" but without commercial association it wouldn't be "spam".
