Rc heli build assistance

Hi

I bought a tarot 450 rc heli kit and all the bits when i was new to the hobby when i had no business doing so.

I have put a lot of it together but am struggling with the electronics / gyro / tx setup as i dont have the knowledge. I wanted to learn but am struggling to find time with work and kid. Its been gathering dust for like 6 months.

I was going to sell it but not worth it.

I live in melbourne and was wondering is there anywhere / anyone i can take it to and pay to finish it off and get it flying who wont take the piss and charge me more than the heli is worth?

Appreciate any help

Adam

Big thanks to Frenche who welcomed me (a complete stranger) into his home and gave up most of his saturday to help me get my heli flying. Most appreciated, he even gave me a few parts without wanting anything in return.

The guy also has the most ridiculous rc collection i have ever seen....

Thanks again mate.

I've heard some good stuff about the Turnigy TGY-i10 which is on sale in the Aussie warehouse at the moment. It wont work with the Orange receiver I installed today but it does come with it's own receiver.

Also the Turnigy 9XR Pro is a good choice, it's on sale as well but you'll need to buy a Orange transmitter module to plug into the back of it to work with the Orange receiver.

Here's the module you'd need (note, module isn't available from the Aussie warehouse)

You could also go the Orange Tx with the receiver I put in, it doesn't need a module but is more basic than the 9XR Pro, and less channels (not available from Aussie warehouse)

The best option though for longevity, quality and ultimate programability without stumping on the extra cash for a genuine Spektrum, JR, or Futaba gear the the Tarannis, this will need the same transmitter module as above to work with that receiver I put in, or you can buy a FrSky compatible receiver and swap it over to use the inbuilt FrSky module in the radio (not available at the Aussie warehouse either unfortunately)

Thanks for the info. Might wait till late at night when i might be silly enough to spend 300+ on a tx haha.

If you reckon its the way to go for me.

Either 9xr pro or the tarranis would be the go i reckon. They may cost more up front, but it'll save you in the long run. I've had my radio for more than 10yrs and still haven't out grown it
