Mobile Marine Models Stan Tug 1605 refurb / upgrade

This is an upgrade / refurbishment of a nice little Tug model that was bought already built from a friend in Barrow England ( he is a Stan Tug Captain there, in his town they build some good size submarines ).

This model was bought and shipped to me at a fraction of the cost of the kit Without motors or electronics.

One of the two 500 motors had come loose and the coupling fell away, that is fixed here.

Old radio stuff was removed, 2.4 installed, the existing 40A Marine Viper ESC is OK.

Some small stuff was broken during its journey to Ca., those bits fixed or replaced here, mast was a bit beat up so it was repaired and re-mounted.

There was no roof ladder, made one from pre-fabbed brass railing from Harbor Models.

Added some deck hardware and hatches ( Harbor Models ).

She had no tires, only the fore and aft bumpers, got some tires ( also from Harbor ), scuffed 'em up a bit and hung them from brass chain after installing anchor points at the rub rail.

Its a well used model, plenty of wear, just the way I want it !

Maidened in US waters this last Saturday at the Tugfest at Spreckels lake, made sure to stay out of the way of the guys competing.

Very nice tug and looks spot-on scale-wise. I like them scuffed up too--just lends more character and realism. Like the peeling paint too. Love too the anodes on the underside which are often overlooked.

A ha, I see your radio choice there. Quite an endorsement.

Louie, this one is too small for you, three of these would fit end to end in some of your Smaller boats ~
