I recently picked up an Omega Mini to use as a travel sailplane. I wanted something that packs up small, handles well in tight spaces, and can be flown on a slope or flat field.
The Omega Mini fits the bill very well! With a 2-piece wing and separately removable V-tail, it packs easily into a pretty small box.
It's large flaps will deploy to 90 degrees if needed, so it's great for landing in a confined area. Wing span is 1.5M and it weighs about 32 ounces. It thermals pretty well given it's small size too.
I set it up as a warmliner using an inexpensive Hyperion outrunner. It will climb vertically, if asked too, but I wouldn't call it fast.
It's a nice little model that is kind of a jack-of-all-trades and should make a great travel companion.

Ok Omega mini came in today.
My setup is about the same as Lenny with few differences (servos).
Ail dimond d60's Levon also the same.
Motor Hyperion 2221-10 w/10x8
With this setup it should be a fun little plane for all around flying.
I will do my best to take pictures as we go.

So far I have had 2 problems with this plane.
1- the left tail plane dose not go all the way down so I had to cut the carbon rod shorter to get good fit.
2- the control horns for the wing is a pain in the a^%#*^# to screw in and I have managed to brake one in there that now I have to do a surgery to fix.
This is where I am so far on the build. Will take some pics later.

We'll plane has been ready for a long time but work and weather stopped the maiden, today was my day off from work but it was about 10 to 15 miles wind and I could not resist any longer so I got her together and went out, the wing was shacking in the wind when I let her go in my surprise she took of fast climb no need for any trim so I let her rip, man fast rolls high g turns all together she handled the wind great then caught a thermal about 50 feet up and went up like a crazy bird.
Love this baby
Thx to Lenny to get me going on this.
Best $399 you can spend for a little booger.
