Choosing a motor for Crack Yak Mini

I'm in the process of buying a crack yak and the necessary electronics(10g servos. , 10a esc, 2s 7.4v 200mah battery, spektrum nano reciever)I've decided on most of them except for the motor. the recommended motor for this plane is a 14g 2000-2350kv motor(though the necessary servos don't actually exist in the weight recommended so i don't take them too seriously). i'm trying to decide between two motors, one recommended by the guy at my hobby shop- a 1700kv Cobra C-2203/46, and something else i found, a 2300kv Cobra C-2203/34. What would be the real-world difference between these two motors? is there a reason why the hobby shop recommended a motor with a much lower than recommended kv rating?
-also posted in 3d flying; I couldn't figure out how to move it so I duplicated it here.

The dual sky motor recommended for this model gives superb flying characteristics, and superb durability. Mine is still running after 18 months learning 3D, dunking in a puddle and many full speed head on ground impacts.

I'm confused. Are you talking about a Crack Yak, or a Crack Yak Mini? For the Crack Yak Mini the DualSky 2212MA25 is a very good motor for this plane. Use it with a 6A ESC. http://www.2dogrc.com/dualsky-xmotor...itional_tabbed
Also, if you are talking about the Mini, 10 gram servos are WAY too big . 4.5g on the ailerons and 3.5 on the rudder and elevator.

I don't have a mini, but I do have 3 TH models. Two of them have their motor and I'm perfectly happy with them and would recommend them all day long. I love the TH motor on my CYSL. My third has a MF, just because I'm a MF fan.

To clarify something, I'm using three 5g servos- I misread the specs originally.

Also, based on some of your recommendations, I'm beginning to think that a larger than recommended motor wouldn't help me at all. I'm still wondering, though, how important is KV rating here?

KV rating is important. The KV rating determines the size prop you need. Flying 3D you need a large enough prop to keep wind over your control surfaces at slow speeds. The prop and kv rating also determine your wattage and amp draw. Improper prop selection could potentially burn out your motor.
