Why the F-16?

Could people with alot more experience than me with EDF jets tell me why alot of the footage I see of really quick EDF's are f-16's of one kind or another?
Are none of the other models suitable?

For the price? No, others available, yes, more expensive [and fragile] that springs to mind are the Alfa's [mig 15, Sabre, A-4] but even then, they require the right motor/fan upgrade, and the new A-7 is very good, but not as fast. ARTF wise, there are some out there that can be made to go very well, but not on the standard set up....the reason the F-16 is so popular is that it does what it does out of the box, the standard 4s version is very fast.....as it is.

Aerodynamically the F16 is a sleak design with very little drag.
