Seems good to me!
One thing I did both on the Laser and Edge was buy a lower kv wind for larger props on 4s for more airflow, especially over the ailerons. The Extra, Yak, and other 48" EXP's I have the 12x6 and stock power combo because they seem to excel in precision a little more (12x6 as you may know is a little small but gets these birds going real fast).
Usually I take advantage of what each plane does particularly well, in this case the Edge being so good in high-alpha using the Motrolfly DM2820 685kv on 14x7 (larger prop) and same with the Laser just because it is so well-rounded. The Laser will fly awesome with a 12x6 using the Hacker motor too, just because high-alpha isn't the ONLY thing it excels in. But it's just me probably, I just love the Motrolfly motors.

EDIT: You might want to use servos with higher torque if you go with the Motrolfly setup just because there is more of a chance of blowback using the larger props. But the 5070MH's will do the job perfectly.

Refresh my memory, please. We you going to run those on 6 volts, or was that someone else I am thinking about?

I just built a new yellow Laser with 5070MH servos (Laser in High Voltage ), with a 5087MH on the elevator. It really rocks on 7.4 volts. High speed tumbles, parachutes and walls and all are insane. I am running the MXS wing tips to give it a little extra stability and playing with a 30% spoileron mix.

As far as your 2200 packs, you might find that will leave you marginal on run time. I mean, if you have them, may as well use them, but most of us run 2700 packs.

That may have been me on the 48" Extra thread, Doc. However, even before it's built, I've learnt the error of my ways! I have a stash of brand new 300mAh 2S for my TH MXS-C Mini and I intend to use one per flight to run rx/servos.

It should be bad ass with that voltage.

I will use them on 7.4 volts. On my Yak they work great like this.

With my flying style the 2200 packs are just fine. I fly a mix of slow 3D and high energy and can get more or less 6 minutes out of them.

That's perfect for me!

Hoping to get my perfect EF build this time. Also I will seal the hinge gaps to get more throw, especially on the elevator.
I'm wondering why this isn't mentioned in the build instructions or videos.
