Would the vinyl sign stuff work? Just wondering how the different methods will stand up to the heat of the motor too. The chrome price was using the same process as chroming a bumper etc.

Darryl Waltrip had a "chrome" race car, in the early 90's. I know that it was done in vinyl.

My graphics supplier does race cars, too, so I would say that a sign shop should be able to help you out.

There. I was able to provide some positive information.

Hey Guys,
Here is a company to check out:
http://www.metal-morphous.com/metalization.html

They do "metalization" of RC planes (owner is a modeler and I believe had a Toledo winning P-38 that was metalized). Give him a call, and see what he charges ... being a modeler, he will speak the language and give you the right answers
Haven't tried them myself, but was going to find out about his process.
