and also would like to ask about the rec motor/prop/batt... im thinking about recycle my x250's to use on Vtail mini

my current electronics
suppo 1500-2200kv
5x3 prop @ 3s 2200mah

the total electronics/prop/motor weight is about 300g.... will these suit the mini vtail?

thx
Mine, which I can't get off the ground (despite eCalc saying it should be hovering at 50% throttle) weighs 310grams total. The frame weighs about 90grams empty. The rest consists of 2000kv motors, 5x3 props, 3s 850mah batt, Naze32, Tunigy 10Amp ESCs, Hitec Minima 6T RX, custom wiring harness.

would it be the battery problem? 850 mah is kind of low what is the c rating?

850 should be good..

3S will pull less amps..

2200 seem over sized .. I use that on by big Spider Quad..

2S 850 on my MiniTri ( 25-30C)

so that is about 25A max.. should be good enough for hovering..
i use 2200 on x250..and it works ok.. you can give it a shot... pretty sure.. and Vtail is different from normal quad.. ecalc will be wrong in this case... cuz the tail motors thrust not all upward

Could it be the props, not producing enough lift tilted? Or say able to handle the load tilted?

K..

I was not able to work on getting one together this weekend..
But I will.. tri.. to do that over the next few days..

Question for you.. if you run one motor with just .. Rx can you compare the power it puts out.. vs with the flight board..

I have some one else reporting similar problem on...400 size..

Having prop adapter would help.. as the two rear. motor are pushing.. if they where pulling they would be more effective with the o rings.

I can try that. I'll let you know, although the results will be subjective, as I have no thrust test rig available to me.

Are they also trying to use a Naze32 FC?

I've got some adapters on order, but it will probably be late this week before they arrive. I'm hoping the 3 blade props arrive today to try those. I'd have ordered some 6 in props as well to try, but I couldn't find any. The Gemfan line I use seems to go from 5" direct to 7" with no 6" in between.

Hi guys!

I'm interested in the mini vtail but I already have 4 spare motors and I need to know if they would fit on the frame.
What is the diameter of the motor hole in the upper plate?

They are 28mm diameter:

I don't think my motors would fit through it. I might have to put the bottom plate at the top and screw the motor to it.

thanks!

Hi,

those motors are way too big..
Hole in arm is 21mm and the maximum prop for the frame would be 5".

Eric

edit:
forgot to add "Sorry".. !

It will as long as you reduce that battery weight.
My buddy can fly the crap out of his X250 with a 3S 1000mah - 1300mah.

Yup, if you look back over the last week or two of posts, I've tried both vtail and y4, with an assortment of PID settings from really high to really low and in between. Other have had issues getting this particular FC to work correctly with the bigger Hunter VTails as well so one of my upcoming options to test is another FC that I borrowed, but I'm trying to exhaust all angles with the Naze first, as the loaner is a CopterControl and you can't buy one of them new right now (only aftermarket at 3-4 times the price).

@K
it should usually be able to fly with default PID.. but, I havent gotten my V yet.. cant help much

@DocA
what is afford payload for the small V? my fiber glass x250 handled well with the current setting.. i think as long as the frame is stiff, I should be good to place my order
