Yes, it came from the scoop set but not sure of the size.
It is in the original grill location.

We'll give it a shot, felt a little silly such a small order.

Next debate is whether to fly the 3s version with the chunk missing from the right rear corner of the elevator, buy a new elevator, or strip the gear. Might say the hell with it.

Flew it with the chunk out of the tail, flew fine. If anything I'll cut the break clean and mirror it on the other side. At least the outboard hinge is still intact.

Flying buddy hand launched it with two steps and a heave, it almost skimmed the ground before it got moving enough to go. The added tape and glue in repairs seems to have made it a bit heavy and sluggish to launch. The lipo also was one of my older 20c turnigy I think. So it wasn't super fast but it flew in 10-15 mph wind so it stays on the roster for wind.

The red 4s will be built soon.

-------- Your Message ----------

I recently purchased the 4 cell stinger 64 setup. It went together fine with instructions. I am using a 4s 2200mah lipo all the way pushed forward for balance. On my maiden yesterday checked throttle, control surfaces, range check and direction of control surfaces. I used the two notched prong under it to launch it at a 45 degree angle about half throttle, it gradually sloped downward about 20-40 feet away and hit up elevator but still wanted to travel into the ground. the whole front was busted so i spent all last night repairing it back to shape. added some weight for cg and flew again today.

Used same 4s 2200mah all the way forward checked everything again, figured id launch with 3/4 throttle this time. launched again alittle higher than 45 degrees already wanted to start sloping into the ground so I hit full up elevator and did nothing. my dual rate/expo is at 100 percent at 10 percent expo. I ordered a new canopy it is totally obliterated this time, but dont want to have to go through this again and am thinking of possibly selling it if I cant figure it out. I'd appreciated any input or help.

The motor is obviously turning counter clockwise and feels like it is working fine, could there be a problem with it though? The elevator servos worked fine pre flight check and had more than enough throws but it still just wanted to fly into the ground. Any help would be appreciated.
Matt

EDFs need to pick up speed to get enough airflow over the surfaces to make them function as you do not have prop blast over the control surfaces. Launch at full throttle straight ahead with a little nose up maybe 20 degrees and a firm toss. 45 degree nose up is too much.

I think your 4s 2200 battery needs to be pushed BACK as far as possible, not as far forward as possible. Like Don says, 45 degrees is too steep. And always launch full power.
Better yet, just install a tow hook and buy a cheap bungee launcher. You will get perfect launches 100% of the time.

Thanks for the input, I'll give this a try when I get the new fuselage on it. It's my first effort, plenty of hand launches with other planes, guess I shoulda consulted before I tried to fly it. Hopefully goes well but still Alitalia nervous with 2 failed attempts

Your angle is too high and the 2200 definitely does not go all the way forward. It goes about 1/2 back from the front.

I use about 3/4 throttle on 4s and throw it pretty level, slightly up. If I am flying Don's wicked 4400 + het fan than I throw at about half speed as it wants to torque roll as the wicked motor is wicked and puts out 1000 Watts.

to me
Matt,
I use the same setup with the battery just about 2-3 mm gap from the front, get all the elevator throw you can, move the linkage clevis the the lowest hole on the control horn if you have to, this will get you more throw. It really helps if you can get someone to launch it for you till you become familiar with how it reacts at first. I know this can be frustrating, after a couple bad launches we tend to be leery. Hope this helps.
Best
Wayne

yea think im gonna try to have someone else throw it taking off at full throttle next time.
