We have FPV groups getting planes from us too but I think that you know what I am talking about. Big groups of flyers aren't what you usually see with FPV but there are some very committed smaller groups.

I linked up with other FPV flyers for information and to have a group to go and fly with on a different kind of group fly. We do more of destination type trips.

Done combat and fpv with the wings and I like combat more. FPV seems more of a technical challenge to me rather than pilot skill. I like acrobatic type of flying. The wing can do a certain amount but is limited. I still combat but picked up the 3D bug that wont quit anytime soon. I'm not exclusive as there's room for most any types of plane. Getting a lot more night flying in which is prompting neighbors asking where to get one and if I would build one for em. Will probably try selling my reaper and one of the assassins. Still have plenty of wings as I will never get rid of them. How many of each kind can one need !

Several questions about the Android doppler application. When I got it it was called RCspeedo but I think it is now owned by Hobby King.

It works well if you fly a low straight flight over the phone without throttle change. I set my phone on the ground. I will turn the app on and set my phone on the ground with the volume at max. A woman's voice will say the speed as the plane flies over.

I have heard that it doesn't work well with many older phones but it worked with my old Galaxy S.

Here is a ink to the free trial version. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...edotrial&hl=en

Read the reviews. It has worked well for me. I wonder if some of the bad reviews is because people don't know how to use it.

Here is the link for the full version https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rcspeedo&hl=en

Hi folks,
Planning on getting one of these GRIM REAPER XL 64"
This will be my first flying wing(i fly quads, planes). Planning on putting FPV gears.
Any tips about building the Reaper XL? (motors, servos, props)

Ok IMHO, I do have a Reaper XL that is full time FPV. I use standard servos, for the motor I use the Hobby Partz 3015 1640 Kv motor, Turnigy Thrust 70A ESC. With a 9x6 prop it will pull 63A, a 8 1/2 x 6 is 53A. (measured with an inline watt meter.) I'm running a 3,300 Nano Tech, 3S, probably could use a larger one like a 4,000 based on the lead weight I used to obtain the COG.
If you click on my avatar and look at my attachment you will see pics to give you and idea of how I laid mine out. If you have a specific question fire away.

Whoa, 63amp!
Guess I'll need a 70a ESC.
