SimRaC - free plan for this great delta/canard

(Just a note, this was NOT originally posted in the Foamy (Kits) section, I don't know how it got here. If a mod can move this thread to the Scratchbuilt section it would be appreciated. If not I'll post the v7.0 version as a new thread in the Scratchbuilt section.)
After myself and friends having had a huge amount of fun with this aircraft I've been persuaded to share the design.
It's basically a Simple Rafale-type Canard hence the name SimRaC
Main material: 6mm Depron and some balsa, Glue: hotmelt/5min epoxy/white woodglue
It's powered at the moment by a VL brushless motor (4 strands/0.5mm wire/8 turns) and a 1500mAh Polyquest 3S battery. Flight times are consistantly around 14 1/2 minutes indicating about a 6.5A average current draw yet it will accelerate vertically to a speck with the 6x4 APC prop it's using.
It doesn't stall - just mushes along, is very, very fast yet can slow up to a hover in a light breeze, landings are really easy - pancake technique with no forward speed or smooth and slow.
If using a performance motor don't leave out the balsa leading edge otherwise it goes so fast the whole wing starts to twist.
Glues used can be hotmelt (turn off the gun b4 it gets too hot - test on a scrap piece first), 5 min epoxy or white wood / cold glue
Just 2 servo's (elevon mixing) are required as the canards are static but the aircraft is very manouverable - doing the 'cobra' well!

Thanks gpw, it really flies great with a remarkable variation of speeds and really simple/quick to build.
The plan has been altered a little from the photo's for a narrower tip chord, the plane on the photo's has had it's wing tips cut off to increase the roll rate (from 800mm to 650mm)

Built and flew a SimRaC yesterday afternoon.
WOW, what a fun plane to fly!!! I did my
first ever rolls and inverted flight. Though this
is NOT a first trainer, my slow-flyer experience
was enough to allow me to have lots of fun!
It was a very easy to build. I built mine as a
profile to make a quicker build.
Looks great in the sky. Got lots of "wows" from
the guys. Several said it flew just like a jet.
Sorry, no pics. I built it yesterday andrushed out to fly
while still light. After the 5th crash, this one on the
pavement, it wasn't up to pictures. No motor, prop
or equipment damage!!!

I wonder how this would do on a regular brushed motor?
It's the kind of thing that I'm looking for as my next plane.

It should go fine on a 6v S400, gunther prop and 8 or 9 smallish cells. It won't be as punchy but will fly fine!
Increase the span by an inch or 2 if you like which'll offset the heavier motor/battery and make the spar a little wider.
Thanks Merwin, your postive compliments are appreciated. I have just finished construction of my 5th SimRaC with some optimization for speed and control.
Improvments include: balsa elevons, balsa false-trailing edge, mylar hinges (more postive control at speed), 3mm balsa fin, 1.5mm hard balsa canards (less drag), 4mm carbon spar recessed into wing (less drag), tapered tail towards motor mount (less drag), solarfilm covered wing surfaces (less drag) and carefully rounded all edges
wing loading = 22g/dm² or 7.2 oz/ft² !
thrust to weight = 460g:380g or 1.2:1 !
wing area = 17dm² or 264 in²
power ratio = 165W/lb or 361W/kg
Calculated level flight top speed = 102km/h or 63mph
Calculated Stall speed = < 21km/h or 13mph
- With a wing loading of 34.4g/dm², a model of this size will have flying characteristics suited to the intermediate pilot, for use in calm to moderate wind conditions.
- The static thrust (429g) to weight (372g) ratio is 1.15:1, which will result in
extremely short take-off runs, no difficulty taking off from grass surfaces (assuming sufficiently large wheels), and vertical climb-outs. This model will probably be able to perform a hover or torque roll.
- At the best lift-to-drag ratio airspeed, the excess-thrust (309g) to weight (372g) ratio is 0.83:1, which will give very steep climbs and incredible acceleration. This model can easily do consecutive loops, and has sufficient in-flight thrust for any aerobatic maneuver.

I have Autocad and so I have no need for CAD viewers. I tried last night to make a pdf for you, and had no luck getting it sized correctly. I'm not sure what size paper it was drawn for, and everything I tried came out wrong. Get a hold of Gene Bond, he's a pro at this. If it can be done he can do it Maybe I'll send him a pm about it...

Here's the best I could do... I hate some of the crap AutoCad or whatever does to files. Screws up life for the rest of us... Plug-ins should clean themselves up before a file is saved!
Could not do a full sheet pdf, since the sheet size used for the original is bigger than 45"... Some limit with my version of Adobe Acrobat, I suppose. Not too many folks have plotters bigger, anyway!
Also, here's a 'clean' dxf file, I hope. Should do fine from the free viewers and other CAD programs.
