Hopefully anyone buying a Frsky knockoff will post that and not trash the Taranis if they have a uncontrolled crash. When non Taranis owners see a crash and the pilot holding a Taranis, their first reaction is to blame it! It's what we do, right!
We're already outnumbered trying to be respected.

For anyone interested in using DSM2/X with the Taranis, here is an update on certain progress I have made:

So, I guess OpenTX 2.1.0 will be out soon!
I've already been flying with it last Tuesday and I suspect it's now in some cool-down just before release.
All current issues were moved to 2.1.1

If a show stopper is found before release they only need to fix it in 2.1.1, move all issues to 2.1.2 and release 2.1.1 after another cool-down period.

But I don't expect any show stoppers.

It could even be out already (didn't check)

I started using 2.1.0 yesterday and have my main models configured and a few more to check. I took a bit to reprogram my Telemetry stuff, but not too long. I haven't flown it yet, still working on making sure all my models are OK.

The only problem I have right now is if I read or backup my Taranis Plus using Companion 2.1.0 it is not reading any of my failsafe settings. My failsafe setting are set in the Taranis Plus and work fine they just don't show in Companion. Not sure if it is something I'm doing wrong.

A bunch of new options for Telemetry.

Edit: just got a note from Bertrand that backing up failsafe is now fixed.

It is getting mind boggling how powerful OpenTX has become. I started a thread here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...79&postcount=1

I finally had a chance to connect and use a new s-port Frsky Gps today. I added to the string of other sensors I have in a Bixer powered glider. I have a precision vario and wanted to compare the differences. I think as expected, the gps was slower at updating the altitude than the vario. No real idea of the error factor in altitude of each and did notice they got real close if I held the altitude longer.
Next time out I'll pay more attention to it all and also log it to the SD card.
So now that I have it what creative programming can I do to utilize it. Maybe a lua script for a simple so so return to home? More for loss of sight to get it back in some overhead vicinity?
I haven't seen that discussed but I'm not up on what lua can do?
Any other applications to justify it taking up room?
Plane speed over ground?
If I knew what I was doing I would be doing it 😀

You could try your hand at GPS racing:

You can also make these cool tracks of your flights using Companion if you log the flights.

Love my Frsky GPS. It always works, fast GPS fix, and it is plenty accurate for me.
