Question
Max angle of attack for wing in ground effect vs the same wing not in ground effect

With two identical wings, one flown in ground effect and one not, does the maximum possible angle of attack before stall change with the ground effect wing? eg. higher, lower?

Also do leading edge slats work as well on a wing in ground effect?

This is a pretty technical question -as most of the lift in ground effect is generated buy pressure beneath the wing, then in theory the airflow over the upper surface may brake away into a stalled condition without the wing losing much lift...but the increase in drag would be significant slowing the craft down which then results in rapid loss of lift. ?? Hope that helps.

Thanks, so you can still fly with the wing stalled.

Yeah thanks, thats the kind of answer I wanted.

The farther you go into a stall the less lift you have. If you go far enough into the stall, the wings lift is not going to support the aircraft. Then the only thing holding the aircraft up is the motors thrust, if its not directed downward the aircraft is going down. There are many charts that describe it, here is one (described in link below). The basics are that you have more lift in ground effect, and can either go slower, or increase the angle of attack, and have more lift that if you did that in free airflow.
