I got to 1848 watts and a temp of 140* and 76 amps using a 20/8 . I think I need to go up to a 20/10 and get the results .
It seemed that it would stay around 1400-1600 watts when flying some aerobatics . And I switched to 3.27 also .

I changed the timing to low and the pwm to 12 and changed to the 3.27 firmware as well am going to try it out with a 19x10 APC and 20-8 xoar and a 20-10 xoar also used a soda bottle to cool the motor. The vid of joe smith on the 3dhs site makes it look killer but maybe it's the high def resolution....hope it wakes up on my re maiden tomorrow otherwise I am going gas.

I was getting 2450W at 105A with an APC 20.5x12W. Got about 16lb of thrust. Max temp was about 158F with sufficient cooling.

Joe's running a 21x10. I just don't know why anyone would run a 20x10.

Hey Guys,

I have a cure to all your problems. I sold my CC Edge 100 ESC and went with the hobbywing flyfun 100amp HV ESC and it worked perfect with the 28 pole Hacker A60 right out of the box! I had lots of problems with my old CC Edge with my A60-6XS not delivering full power even with the firmware update.

I wanted to add my .02$. I read on here and FG that a ZTW Gecko ESC would also work to run the A60. No luck for me. It'll get to about 3/4 throttle and then lose sync which sounds like a loud knocking sound throughout the airframe. I tried messing with the settings and had no luck. I got it to run good enough to fly a couple times on a CC Talon 90 but I had to change the PWM setting to "outrunner mode" Castle phone support told me not to run that setting but its the only way it'll work.

A60-6xs
CC Talon 90 (must use outrunner mode)
ZTW Gecko ( doesn't work)
CC Ice 100 ( bought on ebay and will test next week)
Glacier 45C 5000

From what I understand, the Talon is no better than the Edge as far as compatibility with the 28-pole Hackers. But I think I've read that the very latest firmware released late this summer/fall is finally compatible with these motors. I would check out the thread below for all your high-powered electric setup questions. Aeroplayin is a wizard on that thread. He and others on the thread have lots of experience with the 28-pole Hackers (like the A60-5S, 7S, 8S, as well as the 6XS).
