Not trying to be argumentative here, so tell me to butt out if you want. I use a Eflite 480 920 KV with an APC 10X7 and LOVE it. Running a 30A ESC, max power use is 24A with a 3S 2200 lipo. I run a Spektrum AR600 rcvr in it.The thing hauls, but not too fast to still be easy to fly. Half-throttle putting around is easy flying and batt lasts 10+ min @ 3/4 throttle, longer @ half. Even @ WOT I still show around 3.7 to 3.8V after 8 min. I tried the 9X6, worked well, but not nearly the speed of the 10X7. This Cub has a flattened wing with ailerons and I've embedded a CF bar in it for use as a spar, so no struts. Highly recommend this combination personally, but to each their own. I've got another Cub I use a 18A brushed ESC with the stock can motor, stock 10X8 prop, same 3S lipo with a Spektrum AR500 receiver. I scrapped the stock black box, glad I did. I've used this one MANY hours (until a recent total out due to a stuck elevator servo) with NO problems, although this is the 2nd ESC and motor I've gone thru. I get 8-10 min flights @ WOT with 3.7 to 3.8V left at end of flight. This one has a stock wing and is rigged as a 3 channel. It's fairly highly modified with the entire wing covered with packing tape, has a reinforced battery box (basswood framed) and the main gear off a Eflite J3 Cub with 3" foam tires, so it's fairly heavy, but still performs well. Am replacing the fuse and servos with new right now, haven't had time to finish the rebuild. The wing survived the crash. I use stock struts on this one. I recommend this setup also. I live in the country so I fly this one out of my backyard all the time. The gear makes landing in grass a snap. Anyway, just my humble opinion. Have a good one.
