Help!
Gear driven tail rotor slowdown with increase headspeed

Hi All,
Being new to this sport this may be a dumb question. I just completed a nice build of the Align 250 Pro and did a successful setup with a DX8 Transmitter. The problem I'm having is the gear driven tail rotor slows down to a stop when the main rotor head speed rises. The front drive gears and tail gears are ok. Do I have some kind of bearing problem?

Turn the main rotor by hand in the direction it normally turns, while holding the tail. Look to see where it is slipping.

The bottom gear in the front drive gear assembly meshes and turns with the main drive gear but the 45 degree gear on top does not when holding the tail. The confusing part is that this assembly was pre-assembled in the main frame and appears to be one molded shaft with two bearings. When not holing the tail all seems to rotate fine.

Sounds like maybe the boom isn't pushed in all the way, OR one of your gears is slipping on the shaft - check the little metal attachments that grab the gears, and see if you can spin it on the shaft.
