Zoom lens?

Hello all
Has anyone tried to use a zoom lens on the fly FPV? For example, use this lens
http://www.securitycamera2000.com/pr...ocal-LENS.html
and have a servo manually adjust while you fly. BTW, could this double as a night lens due to teh narrow zoom, or are night lens' working on different properties?
Thanks

Haven't seen that lense before.
I don't "fly" FPV but have a ground unit on FPV that I sometimes use a sony zoom camera in.
The only difference in night and day lenses is if they have an IR filter or not - sometimes this is on the lense, sometimes on the camera sensor. To see infra red lights you obviously need a setup without the IR filter.
Here's a video of how it works - I've since improved the setup a fair bit - with better focus/zoom controls and light setup.
(Turn down your sound as it is a bit loud at the start)

That's hilarious man! Night hunting for wabbits. I am seriously jealous of your ground vehicle. I just lost my second loaded FPV aircraft, never to be recovered again. If I had a car I'd never lose it and all that lost $ could have really pimped it out. It also must be relaxing, being able to just stop whenever you want and take a break. I could also let people try it for a laugh, something I can't do with aircraft.

Yeh, a lot less to worry about than with flying! Can get up and get a drink if you want. My ground station is inside my house (with antennas on the roof) so it is pretty comfy

Yep. I love that aspect of ground FPV. Without the stress/fear of losing your craft, you get to just sit back and enjoy the adventure alot more. Of course, I also love airplane FPV FOR that stress/fear (kinda...) heh.

What about this camera with auto zoom and focus/iris?

I guess it comes down to how to control the zoom and camera, what kind of input signal they require?
