How to remove prop shaft - Mini Vapor

I did a killer nose dive with my mini vapor into the hardwood floor and snapped the prop shaft just after the drive gear. How do I remove the prop shaft from the gearbox assembly? It looks like there's a small plastic nut on the backside of the prop shaft but unscrewing it isn't helping me.

The nut on the backside of the gearbox is reverse thread. Try unscrewing the nut the other direction to remove it.

Hope that helps.

I replaced mine a few weeks ago. I was surprised that the gear didn't come already on the shaft as it does with the night vapor.

I ended up supporting the gear on two sides and pressing the shaft out. It was the same process to press the new shaft onto the gear. Care must be taken to push straight, because the shaft could bend easily if pressed on an angle. I don't think there should be any ca, the shaft is knurled to hold the gear.

Changed mine out today. I used a dremel collet that fit close to the shaft diameter, slipped it over the long end and then pushed down . Not much force and it slid right off. E Z greasy! Back to flying . No more inverted flights for me ...at least not the intentional ones that caused my failure.
