Great build Brent. Only a few people could scratch build something like that and I can say I am not one of them. Great work from both of you.
Dude, just because you went Turbine dosent mean you need to keep dragging it over here.... We know you love your turbine

thanks for the encouragement guys. im thinking a couple 120 fans using the inner gear door openings as cheaters will be the best performing edf setups for this. now i just need the money to buy 2 120mm setups haha.
There you go bud...now your talking. I know you have hook up for JHH stuff so maybe a couple turbax's? The TF-4000's are a pretty good deal also.

It may be even cheaper to find used dynamax's and convert them with outrunners.... you know how cool they sound.

But I think your on the right track now to get this baby moving out... looking forward to seeing it go. I have a brand new glow vio fan you could convert....I'd work you a good deal if your interested in it. Then you just need to find one more...

while i would really like to go turbine, theres a number of issues going that route too, especially with a foam model. id have to heat/fuel proof most of the inside of the model, adding more weight, also, the complexity of learning a completely new type of power system, that i have 0 experience with (other than flying a CARF flash a couple times)

vio fan....NEVER! haha.

id go turbax's for sure. chris wolfe recently did some testing on 8000 mah neu packs that was very interesting. were talking 17-18 lbs of thrust with no inlet ring, on a trusty ol' 1527

thats my 100mm, i built it, he tested it. i flew a 105mm in my kfir that i built.

100 would work with full ducting, but it needs a solid 6kw to match the 120 at 5kw. something to consider. andys flies well on 100's.110's might work with ducting. 105's like i had in the kifr would be killer at 5500w. the kfir only had about 4400.

i think 110 at a min,120s are going to be hurting for FSA. you need something that well allow you to back off the power and cruise at say 75% but you know that already ,you need some sponsers for this beast....and a trailer

Congratulations both of you!Gunradd is right, only a few people could scratch build something like that.I'm sure you will solve all the problems! One question i have is if you have measure the instaled static thrust? With so big inlets and outlets how much is the losses?
