Bixler 1.1 crashed 10 times!

Need Help please.

Hi New to RC Groups,

Sorry if posted in wrong section.

Need some serious help with a pitching problem.

Running a standard Bixler 1.1 1300 lipo on a Spektrum dx6i.
I have a major issue with the elevation on the plane i cant keep the nose down with no throttle, little throttle or on full.

Its so bad it back flips. Im constantly having to hold down elevator to keep it half manageable. We have quite windy weather in the UK so i haven't seen any lower winds than 10mph unfortunately which obviously doesn't help.

I have been considering to do throttle mix but not to sure how to achieve this successfully. Any advice for the Spektrum dx6i would be appreciated.

I also tried to add some nose weight to help balance and haven't found any difference in behaviour apart from the initial toss. Therefore i removed the weights to go back to standard.

My CG was good as i have seen in many videos and followed the advice, even made a little balancer apparatus thing.
CG was appx 30% in the wing from the front.

Im baffed and need some help to get this plane flying right with some adjustments.

Will post videos and pictures soon of carnage lol

Thanks For all the Help.
M

Appox 30% doesn't mean it's a good CG location.

You need a solid 2 3/4 inches from leading edge. That's an example.

Not a guesstimation. My prognosis would be it's out of balance.

Hi Crash Monkay
I agree with dedStik. A CG change of 1/8" can make a difference. Get the CG exact, then go from there.

This thread suggests a cg between 60 and 70 mm from leading edge of the wings.

There are also balancing washers in the plane did you remove those? If so and you are running a 1300 mAh pack put them back.

Bixler 1.1 repair

I now have the cg right but the plane nose dived every time I try to launch it. What is he best way to straighten out the nose? Carbon fiber strips? The canopy is almost folded in half. I can straighten it out but it goes back to the crash position.
