For some reason, there was a huge offset on the home-position. I donīt know if it was bad GPS-signal, a bug, or the GPS that failed in the cold weather. But the offset was already visible before take-off.

At the moment negative altitude is not shown with a "-" sign on GPS-altitude, and you canīt tell the difference from positive or negative altitude. Off course, that made it quite difficult to use GPS-altitude. That will be fixed

msev,

I'm not ready to draw that conclusion. I also had GPS locking problems before upgrading for barometric pressure. The issue seems to be related to the distance from the OSD/Camera/SBEC to GPS board.

I'll try extending the wires to the GPS unit by a few centimeters and try that out.

The software have been updated.
http://code.google.com/p/diy-osd-max7456/downloads/list

There's quite a few changes, but the most noticeable:
- Negative GPS-altitude supported
- Negative temperature supported
- Delay-screen removed (can be turned on again if you find QUIET_BOOT in config)
- Show satellites added, but will only work with QUIET_BOOT disabled. With QUIET_BOOT enabled, the satellites will automatic show if GPS-fix have been lost.
- GPS-altitude can be replaced by pressure-altitude
- Added some configurations for better customization

All in all not an important update, but a lot of minor changes.

Thank you
But I think I'll put the artificial horizon on standby for a little while. I would like to make sure everything else works as expected, before adding more to the project.

But if you have the hardware available, lets see the latest firmware in air

So is my OSD ready to be installed ..

I can see a problem at night flights. The black bars and dots on the right side can not be seen when it is dark in the background. I suggest either a night flight mode in all white, with a longer dot/bar to indicate the center or whites edges of the black bar and dot.

Great to see

You are right about the thermal-bar, it's not easy visible, if you fly at night. It should be a quick fix and I'll consider to include it as an option in next release.

Great to see it in action
I few things worth mentioning:
  • The altitude is replaced with barometer-altitude, which have hanging characters. My mistake, will be fixed
  • The negative-sign is barely visible. Will be replaced with another character later
  • You are using 1 hz GPS which gives quite a slow response. Furthermore, as home-position is set relative to number of GPS-updates after fix, you have to wait something like 5 times as long for home-position as intended. Can change it for timer instead of GPS-updates
Except for that, whenever someone have some feedback on the barometer, please let me know. The filter can be changed for faster response, but with a bit more noise as result. Furthermore the precision for lift/sink rate can be decreased a bit to get faster response. It's all a compromise between samples, speed, precision and noise

I agree. I need to program the GPS in this bird, it's a 10hz version running af 1hz.
Remark GPS coordinate flash when summery screen deactivate.

It clears the entire screen between top-line and bottom-line, when summary disappears. Mainly to ensure nothing's left hanging.
Normally the GPS-coordinates would appear again 1/5 second later, but as you are using 1 hz update-rate, it's easy visible.
