Hi all, I can sort out CoG positions for models with conventional wings etc. But I have a problem with flat wing Depron Delta type shapes of my own design. I have read somewhere that a glide test can be used with these lightweight models using Blue Tack or similar to trim an empty model for a long flat glide. Any info on this will be gratefully received. Cheers

Yes,I tape quarters to mine on nose and toss in some tall grass.It will get you pretty close, Joe

You can even make a cardboard (or plywood) cutout the same shape of your model to do a glide test. You'd have to add a vertical stabilizer too. This way you won't have to worry about breaking your model.

It hekps to know , Deltas CG are a little farther forwards then you might think,depends on sweep of wing design but test it out starting off what you may think it looks like being nose heavy.

I think that,s good advice Lucky. Built a foamy from a plan once, 12 inch cord. CoG on plan was 1 1/2 inches out. Dead lucky to save it. Should have known better. LoL.
